Abbie Twomey

Education and Training Lead

My role as Education and Training Worker involves training professionals on Eating Disorders, including healthcare workers and school staff. This is focused around Early Intervention and Prevention. My job also includes delivering workshops with young people on topics such as body image and disordered eating. Additionally, I work on SYEDA’s social media. I enjoy my role as it’s very varied and has the potential to impact a large number of people.

I have a BSc in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Mental Health Practice. I have previously worked as a mental health practitioner in a schools-based Mental Health Support Team, and alongside the forensic psychology team in a low secure forensic unit.

In my spare time I enjoy climbing, being with friends and running a local book club.
