CBT-T Practitioner
Hello, I’m Ellie, a CBT-T and CBT-AN-20 practitioner. My CBT-T work focuses on a ten-session version of cognitive behavioural therapy for non-underweight eating disorders, while CBT-AN-20 is a twenty-session approach tailored to individuals who are experiencing anorexia nervosa. In both models, I also support people restricting, bingeing and/or purging to make meaningful behavioural and cognitive changes.
My approach helps clients understand the drivers behind these behaviours and develop long term tools to prevent them. Sessions also explore challenges around specific foods, emotion regulation, and body image. Across both treatments, I aim to create a collaborative therapeutic experience where clients learn to become their own therapists, with me acting as a ‘coach' to empower change.
My academic background includes a degree in Psychology (BSc) from the University of Sheffield. I am delighted to be part of SYEDA team, where we share a commitment to delivering accessible, effective therapy to support people affected by eating disorders.
Outside of my role at SYEDA, I enjoy the outdoors especially surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and exploring new places. I also love indoor climbing and badminton.
