WE NOW OFFER A FREE DIGITAL WORKSHOP FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE
The Body Happy Organisation:
SYEDA has a free digital workshop designed to support Years 5 and 6 in building body respect, confidence, and kindness. Guided by three facilitators, pupils will explore each of the four Body Happy Skills: Literacy, Resilience, Kindness, and Advocacy.
The workshop was purchased by SYEDA from Body Happy Org and covers the following:
Pause points for classroom-based activities
Teacher-led discussions
Creative breakout tasks
Resources for parents and teachers
The total session length is flexible - from 45 minutes to 2 hours - depending on how many activities you choose to run and how long you give pupils for each one. The workshop can be delivered anywhere and at any time, and there is a guide included to aid teacher delivery.
Key themes explored:
What body respect is and why it matters
How media messages shape how we feel
Kind self-talk and celebrating our bodies
Being an ally and champion for others
The workshop is designed for easy classroom delivery - no special tech or prior training needed. Just press play, pause when prompted, and use the printable resources and guidance provided.
Prior to accessing this digital workshop, educational staff are required to attend a free 60 minute introductory call with SYEDA. The call will include information on our services, how to access referrals and the connection between body image and eating disorders. This is a chance for us to explore our ongoing relationship and answer any questions you might have. Following this we will share a link to the Body Happy resource.
