Tier 1 training:
Join SYEDA for a focused 90-minute training that builds confidence in recognising eating disorders, responding with sensitivity, and guiding people toward the right support.
Grounded in lived experience and evidence-based practice, this session equips healthcare professionals to respond with empathy, clarity, and strong clinical understanding—within their scope of practice.
You’ll learn how to:
Recognise the signs of eating disorders and disordered eating
Identify key risk factors, including psychological, physical, social, and cultural influences
Understand why early intervention matters
Recognise clinical risk indicators and know when urgent action is required
Explore how body image, body respect, and societal pressures contribute to eating disorders
Understand the relationship between neurodiversity and disordered eating
Approach vulnerable individuals with confidence and navigate clear referral and signposting pathways
Appreciate the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and when to involve other professionals
Designed for healthcare professionals, this training uses clinically relevant language and focuses on early identification, risk awareness, professional boundaries, and appropriate escalation and referral within health systems.
