Join SYEDA for a focused 90-minute Tier 3 specialist training designed for professionals working with neurodivergent individuals. This session builds confidence in recognising atypical and masked presentations of eating disorders, responding with sensitivity, and guiding people toward appropriate support.
Grounded in lived experience and evidence-based practice, this session equips professionals to respond with empathy, clarity, and strong clinical understanding—within their scope of practice.
You’ll learn how to:
• Understand the relationship between neurodivergence and eating disorders
• Identify atypical and masked presentations of disordered eating
• Distinguish between sensory-based eating differences and emerging eating disorders
• Recognise heightened risk factors
• Communicate in ways that are accessible, affirming, and non-stigmatising
• Adapt interventions, expectations, and referrals appropriately
• Work collaboratively across education, health, and community settings
Designed for professionals working in high-risk or specialist contexts, including SENCOs, educational psychologists, CAMHS and adult mental health practitioners, autism and ADHD service staff, therapists, social workers, and youth workers, this training focuses on equipping participants with practical strategies, risk awareness, enhancing understanding, and supporting collaborative care for neurodivergent individuals with disordered eating.
