Paul Carnell has spent his working life in the voluntary sector. He moved to Sheffield in 1989 to become the first CEO of Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.
After 10 years he moved to the new post of Development Director at Voluntary Action Sheffield, where he lead on the creation of the Circle building, and on a radical increase in their self-generated income, as well as many initiatives to improve support to local voluntary sector organisations.
He knew of Syeda both professionally and through the involvement of one of his daughters. After joining the Board in 2013 he has been particularly involved in securing their lottery grant, shaping their Business Plan and supporting their Chief Executive.
