I have lived in Sheffield for the last 15 years and worked in a number of different roles in this time including for the NHS, the City Council and within the voluntary sector. Most recently I’ve worked as Operational Manager at Sheffield Mind and as a commissioner in the NHS. I currently work for South Yorkshire Housing Association and have previously worked at Breast Cancer Care as the Regional Services Manager for the North of England. However when I started working for a national charity I was keen to keep in touch with the voluntary sector in Sheffield and to contribute to the success of small, grassroots organisations such as SYEDA. I have had a number of close friends who have suffered from eating disorders and have been in a caring role more than once. I think the work SYEDA does around early intervention and support for sufferers and carers is essential and I have seen the lives of numerous people turned around through our services. For the last 4 years I have been on the Board, first as the Secretary and currently as the Chair, working with the other trustees to set the strategic direction for SYEDA.
