As of 28th September we are unable to accept new referrals from anyone seeking direct support due the need to temporarily close our waiting list. Only people who live in Barnsley or those 19 and under from Rotherham are still able to refer or be referred for support. This is due to the different levels of demand and capacity we have within each area.
We expect this to be a temporary measure to allow us to manage the flow of clients accessing support, minimise waiting times and improve the service over a longer term.
If you know that the person you are supporting has a BMI is below 17.5 or they're purging more than 5 times per week then we would urge them to see their GP as soon as possible for a referral to more specialist support.
We will announce that we are open to new referrals once the waiting list has been re-opened.
You can find other means of support on the Our Services – Other services that can help

The Beat website has a plethora of useful information and services https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/
Our Sheffield monthly support groups which can be accessed without a referral or assessment will still continue to run as usual, more details are available here:
