Who We Work With

Syeda is looking to expand it's reach to ensure everyone affected by eating disorders in Sheffield has equal access. Our Community Development Worker is responsible for improving Syeda reach to particularly young people aged 14 to 21 with eating disorders and their carers (friends or family) across wider Sheffield. We will engage with individuals and groups currently under-represented within Syeda where eating disorders are known to be prevalent.

As part of the programme, we will be working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities, community groups, youth groups, and other agencies. This will ensure that we are able to PREVENT, TREAT, and RAISE AWARENESS of eating disorders.

We work with:

  • Schools to deliver self-esteem and body image workshops, PSHE lessons and/or peer support programs.

  • Colleges and Universities to deliver workshops, individual sessions, drop in services and support groups.

  • We work with various community groups and youth groups to deliver short sessions on 'Understanding Eating Disorders', Self-esteem and Body Image workshops, peer support programs and drop-in services.
