Fundraising

  • Like all charities, we rely on the provision of funding to survive.  As we are sure you are aware the current economic climate is making the financial situation challenging for many, including ourselves.  Donations and fundraising are an important means of income for Syeda and help us to continue to provide some of the day to day services.

 

What can you do?

A new way to Give

We have discovered a new easy way that we can raise money for SYEDA that does not involve you parting with extra cash or extra time.

Everyclick.com has launched a new way to donate – it's been Christened "Give as you Live".

You get great search results from Yahoo!, content from leading shopping providers and access to all eBay auctions. Every search you make creates a donation for charity.

Everyclick has already raised over £1,000,000 for a wide range of charities around the UK.

Make sure you sign up so you can track your giving - it updates every 3 minutes, you'll be amazed how quickly it adds up!

Make a one-off donation

  • A donation of £10 would pay for a month’s supply of leaflets.

If you’re a UK tax payer, we can claim back 28p for every pound you give!  So please ask us for a gift aid form.

  

Give regularly through a monthly standing order

 

  • A donation of £2.00 per month would cover the cost of essential oil blends for one service user for a year.

  • Forms are available from Syeda.

Donate adult's and children's clothing, bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, handbags and belts for re-use - NO BRIC-A-BRAC PLEASE

  • Bags are available at Syeda. Fill them and bring to Syeda. We get £400 a tonne for the bags and since March 2010 we have raised £850.

 

Raise funds painlessly while you shop online!

  • This costs you nothing, however, Syeda gets a percentage of everything you spend which you would be spending anyway!   To do this, you need to log onto: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/  and create your account which doesn't take long. Link this to Syeda when asked to choose a charity.

  • Save http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ to your favourites and when you want to shop you can choose the site you want to buy from and you will be directed straight to it. Syeda will get a % donation when you spend - the amount depends on the company you are shopping with.

  • There are lots of major companies registered such as Amazon, Clothes shops, Holiday and Insurance companies and once you have entered the site it is like shopping normally.  So,once set up, it really is just a case of going onto the Easyfundraising website and then clicking on your preferred site.

 

Recycling

  • We welcome donations of used ink cartridges, mobile phones, jewellery and books.  Harry Potter audio cassettes sell particularly well.

 

Volunteer your time to help out

 

  • If you have a few hours a week to volunteer for a good cause, why not help us out.  As Syeda has such a small staff team, we sometimes struggle to be able to cover late evening opening at the centre.  We quite often need help at events in and around South Yorkshire, and we always need helpers and volunteers for our fundraising events.
