I have lived in Sheffield for the last 13 years and worked in a number of different roles in this time including for the NHS, the City Council and within the voluntary sector. Most recently I’ve worked as Operational Manager at Sheffield Mind and as a commissioner in the NHS. I currently work for Breast Cancer Care as the Regional Services Manager for the North of England, a job I really enjoy. However when I started working for a national charity I was keen to keep in touch with the voluntary sector in Sheffield and to contribute to the success of small, grassroots organisations such as SYEDA. I have had a number of close friends who have suffered from eating disorders and have been in a caring role more than once. I think the work SYEDA does around early intervention and support for sufferers and carers is essential and I have seen the lives of numerous people turned around through our services. For the last two years I have been the Secretary on the Board and also enjoy an active role in leading on the business plan and working with the other trustees to set the strategic direction for SYEDA.
